This former post office has a modern extension that had created a challenging layout, with lots of columns. Our brief was to create a more open space when converting the restaurant from an ASK to a Pizza Express.
Bespoke furniture created with the columns in mind helped to utilise all the nooks and crannies. Inspiration was taken from local 1930s architecture for the screens. Designed in house they ensure intimate dining areas without blocking light or making the layout feel cluttered. Images of postal workers have been enlarged to create the artwork.
The over-grown garden was cleared and landscaped to make an attractive outside dining area.
