The art direction for this Pizza Express has a touch of “says what it does on the tin” about it. Refurbished in April 2013 this Dean Street restaurant’s basement is also a renowned venue for live Jazz. Bespoke wallpaper reference classic Jazz album covers, and musicians performing feature in the framed black and white photographs.
Tiles and lampshades around the Pizzaiolo have an industrial feel but the walnut cladding and wooden floors add warmth, helping to create a relaxed mood. Texture is brought into the scheme with bare brick walls and these free flowing sketchy lines on the table pendants.
